THEN

Who am I?

Transient

I have been writing and recording music for over four decades. Performing solo and in bands throughout North America. I'm lucky enough to be in the company of the finest musicians and be super creative. All during these times I've pursued writing, playing and recording all of my own original music too.

Many moons ago when I lived back East, I was building recording studios for a few famous (and a some infamous) people.  I was involved in many aspects of the music business in the late '70s while growing up in New Jersey and New York. Spent the early 80's in Woodstock N.Y. and had the pleasure of being around that scene of musicians and learned a bunch. The business of music was changing and I knew that traveling West was in my future.

I came out to California in the late 80's and in the early '90's to build a new studio (eventually my personal studio) located in Scotts Valley CA. At that time computers were really taking off and digital was finding a solid footing. I embraced the digital recording process and never looked back at analog.

Through the years I've recorded music for video and radio jingles which included my own brand of music. Now I split my time up between Sedona, AZ and the Bay Area, CA. I enjoy traveling to many parts of the world playing and recording wherever I am.

What have I been doing?

Design work over at IntimoMedia, along with writing and recording the next collection of new music for the album entitled "NINE to SEVENTY"  I am also jamming with local musicians and developing a few sets of live music for gigs using the Helix, Logic, MainStage and Ableton Live.

Spending more time fine tuning guitar tones on the Line6 Helix, which will allow for quick access to any guitar sound or amp/cabinet combination. Also I am putting more time in on music theory and digging back into modes, scales and memorizing the notes on the neck… always good to refresh!

I am rotating playing between Acoustic 6 and 12 string guitars and the Fender American Stratocaster. The acoustic is so quick and versatile as it has no technology connected to it, just pick it up and play.

Finally, I think I am at the point where technology and creativity has a nice balance and we now can create, publish and deliver the music easily on Youtube or any streaming service. I continue to come up with my best work and get it out there.

What am I working on now?

  • Jamming and putting together a group to perform a blend of acoustic and electronic music.

  • Exploring new sounds using different tunings on the Yamaha silent and Taylor guitars.

  • Recording originals using Logic, Live and MainStage—along with Line6 Helix, HX Stomp, Yamaha Silent Guitar, Santa Cruz 6 string, Taylor guitars and Fender American Stratocaster.

  • Writing two movie scripts; one set in Kauai Hawaii, and one in the Grand Canyon, Arizona.
